Anatomic mattresses

An ergonomic mattress is the solution if you regularly wake up with back pain, neck pain or shoulder pain. Our Anatomic mattresses are developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists, with Active Support Technology that combines 4 different firmness levels in a single pocket spring core. What is an Anatomic mattress?

An Anatomic mattress is a pocket spring mattress with a core that follows the anatomical shape of the human body. Its zoning was developed together with physiotherapists and orthopaedic specialists. Thanks to Active Support Technology, the core combines 4 different firmness levels in 1, spread over 7 comfort zones, with extra attention to your shoulder, lumbar and pelvic zones. You get all the benefits of a classic pocket spring mattress, with more precise support.

Our Anatomic mattresses combine:

  • 750, 1500 or 3000 electro-thermally hardened Anatomic pocket springs (for 180x200 cm): the more springs, the finer the pressure distribution
  • A comfort layer of your choice: Gelpulse (latex), Viscogel (memory foam), Rememory, HD-Foam or Organic Latex (natural latex)
  • An open spring core that lets air and moisture circulate freely
  • Belgian production in our workshop in Kuurne, West Flanders
  • Stability, even when your partner moves

No two people sleep the same way. Below, you can read how the Anatomic core adapts to each complaint and sleeping position, from back pain to side sleeping.

Ergonomic mattress for back pain

An ergonomic mattress for back pain mainly supports your lower back and pelvic area, the two spots that carry the most weight while you sleep. Revor's Anatomic core is built around the natural pattern of your body: those zones get slightly firmer support, while the rest of the core gives just enough to prevent sagging. That zoning isn't a coincidence, it was developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists. Combine the core with a comfort layer such as Rememory or Viscogel, and your lower back stays in a neutral position all night, without the pressure points that leave you waking up stiff.

Ergonomic mattress for neck pain

An ergonomic mattress for neck pain keeps your head, neck and shoulders aligned with the rest of your spine, whatever position you sleep in. The Anatomic core's 7 active comfort zones give your shoulder a softer spot to sink into, so it settles in deeper while your neck stays straight, the small detail that makes all the difference for side and back sleepers. Comfort layers such as Gelpulse and Organic Latex are point elastic, reacting instantly to the shape of your body instead of building up pressure around your neck. The result: your neck stays just as well supported on your side as on your back, no repositioning needed.

A mattress with 7 comfort zones: how does it work?

A mattress with 7 comfort zones divides your body into 7 sections, from head to toe, each with its own level of firmness. At Revor, that happens through Active Support Technology: a blend of 4 different firmness levels in a single pocket spring core. Instead of a mattress that feels the same everywhere, every zone gets exactly the support its body weight calls for, a softer shoulder zone, a firmer lower back and pelvic zone, with a smooth transition in between. This zoning was developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists and follows the body's own anatomical pattern, so your spine keeps a neutral line no matter how you sleep.

Ergonomic mattress for side sleepers

An ergonomic mattress for side sleepers needs to take the pressure off your shoulder and hip first, the two spots that carry the most weight when you sleep on your side. The Anatomic core's shoulder zone is deliberately softer than the rest, letting your shoulder sink in deeper while your spine stays straight. At the same time, the hip zone pushes back just enough to keep your pelvis from sagging. A comfort layer like Viscogel takes that a step further: visco responds to your body heat, molding to your contours and spreading your weight evenly. No more tingling arm, no numb feeling waking you up, just a position that stays supported all night.

Pressure-distributing mattress: what does point elasticity mean?

A pressure-distributing mattress owes that quality to point elasticity, how much a mattress can give locally, at each pressure point, without the rest of it moving along. In a pocket spring core, that comes from every spring reacting to pressure on its own, independent of the others: the more springs, the finer that distribution. Our Anatomic pocket springs come in 750, 1500 or 3000 per mattress, the higher that count, the more precisely your body's weight gets spread across the core. That's exactly what sets them apart from Bonnell springs, which are linked together and move as one. At Revor we work exclusively with electrothermally hardened pocket springs, never Bonnell springs, for a longer lifespan and more accurate support.

Comfort layers: choose the layer that suits you

Every ergonomic mattress from Revor is built from carefully selected comfort layers on top of the Anatomic core. Depending on the model, you can choose from Gelpulse (latex), Viscogel (memory foam), Rememory, HD-Foam (HR foam) or Organic Latex (natural latex), each with its own feel and strengths. In most models, we also incorporate Hybrid Foam into the cover itself, which gives the top layer just that extra touch of softness and adds more support.

For anyone who wants to complete the picture, there's the matching Anatomic boxspring for perfectly tailored sleep comfort, from base to top layer.

Frequently asked questions about Anatomic mattresses

An ergonomic mattress adapts to the natural shape of your body, instead of you having to adapt to the mattress. In practice, that means targeted support for each part of your body: a touch softer around your shoulders, a touch firmer under your lower back and pelvis, so your spine keeps a neutral line in every sleeping position. At Revor, we achieve this with the Anatomic pocket spring core: Active Support Technology combines 4 different firmness levels in 1 core, spread across 7 active comfort zones, developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists following the body's anatomical pattern.

The 7 comfort zones of a mattress divide your body into 7 sections, from head to toe, each with its own level of firmness. In Revor's Anatomic core, that division happens through Active Support Technology: a mix of 4 different firmness levels in 1 pocket spring core. Your shoulder zone is set softer so your shoulder can sink in deeper, while your lower back and pelvis zones are slightly firmer to provide enough counter-pressure. This zone layout was developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists and follows the body's anatomical pattern.

When it comes to back discomfort, a mattress with targeted zone support is generally the best choice: a mattress that feels equally firm everywhere often doesn't support your lower back enough. Our Anatomic mattresses were developed with exactly this in mind. Active Support Technology combines 4 firmness levels in 1 core, with extra support right under your lower back and pelvis, where your body carries most of its weight at night. This zone layout was developed together with physiotherapists and orthopedists and is based on the body's anatomical pattern. Not sure which model to pick? Our mattress finder helps you find the right choice based on your weight, sleeping position and preferences.

Yes, that's possible at Revor. If you and your partner have different firmness preferences, you can choose a mattress with mixed comfort: a different firmness on the left than on the right, or vice versa. That way, each partner gets exactly the support that suits their build and weight, without either of you having to compromise. Ask a Revor retailer near you which mixed comfort options are available for the Anatomic model you're considering.

Yes. The shoulder zone of the Anatomic core is deliberately set softer than the rest of the core, so your shoulder can sink in deeper and your spine stays straight, exactly what side sleepers need. At the same time, the hip zone provides enough counter-pressure to stop your pelvis from sinking too far. Comfort layers like Viscogel reinforce this effect even further: under the influence of body heat, the material shapes itself to your contours and spreads your weight evenly between shoulder and hip.

A standard pocket spring core (at Revor, 750 to 1500 independently moving springs) already divides your body across 7 comfort zones, with a classic zone layout and a softer shoulder zone. An Anatomic pocket spring goes a step further: the same independently moving springs, but with a zone layout that follows the exact anatomical pattern of your body, through Active Support Technology, which combines 4 different firmness levels in 1 core. Anatomic pocket springs also go up to 3000 per mattress, compared to a maximum of 1500 with the classic pocket spring core, for anyone looking for the finest point elasticity and the most ergonomic support in our range.
