Why Sleeping Naked is Better

Some people like to sleep in pajamas, others only in underwear, and some prefer to sleep naked. Our sleep coach is already convinced: sleeping naked offers many benefits. We list a few of them here.

Good for the Skin

When you sleep naked, you give your body room to breathe. Your body stays cooler, and you sweat less during the night. By allowing parts of your body to air out at night, your pores can breathe better, which can help prevent skin issues such as eczema, fungal infections, and skin irritations.

Good for Your Relationship

Skin-to-skin contact ensures the production of oxytocin, the affection hormone. This boosts your self-confidence and helps you relax. Plus, it's much more exciting to sleep naked than in pajamas, which encourages your partner to be in a playful mood. You’ll have more frequent intimate moments and feel happier.

Good for the Private Parts

Especially for men, sleeping naked is beneficial for reproductive organs. A well-ventilated environment is better for sperm production and quality. Tight boxers are not optimal for procreation. For women, it also keeps the area around the vagina aired out, helping to prevent yeast infections or bacterial infections.

Easy Calorie Burn

The colder your body is, the harder it has to work to keep you warm. You burn calories more easily as your body has to make more effort to stay warm. Additionally, cooling down also stimulates the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone. So, you fall asleep more easily when sleeping naked.

More of a Pajama Fan?

Not comfortable with the idea of slipping under the sheets naked? Then be sure to choose a light pajama and bedding of the same nature. You can also layer several light blankets; if you get too warm, you can easily remove one. It’s especially important that the fabrics don’t feel suffocating. Also, make sure not to wear pajamas that are too tight. Lastly, our sleep coach advises keeping your hands and feet warm for optimal blood circulation.
